Library Classes Next Week
Get ready! The summer session is short and your research paper deadline is right around the corner. Take advantage of of two library classes offered next week:
TOUR OF BOBST & INTRODUCTION TO BOBCAT — Tue., May 22 at 2:00-3:30PM
A tour of key areas of Bobst Library is followed by a hands-on session on how to effectively search BobCat, NYU Libraries’ online catalog. Tour meets at the Reference Desk on the first floor, hands-on session follows in room PC2 on LL 2.
FINDING PERIODICAL ARTICLES (USING DATABASES) – Wed., May 23 at 10:00-11:30AM
NYU Libraries subscribes to hundreds of databases for searching full-text articles published in newspapers, magazines, and scholarly journals. This class helps you make best use of these resources, highlighting the advantages of searching licensed databases over Google and other Web search engines. You’ll also learn tips for choosing databases relevant to your research topic, techniques for effective searching within databases, and guidelines for critically evaluating the information you find. Meets in room PC2 on LL2 of Bobst.
