WorldCat and RLIN Changes

The RLG Union Catalog (RLIN) and WorldCat are merging.

As a result, RLIN will no longer be available as a separate catalog, effective 1 October 2007. All RLIN records have been integrated into WorldCat. This is due to the integration of the two information organizations, OCLC and RLG. WorldCat is available from the search box on the library’s homepage at: http://www.library.nyu.edu/

Also as a result of the integration, most of the RLG databases will be available through OCLC FirstSearch and will have a different search interface. Contents and currency remain the same. You can still reach them through the library’s database page at:
http://www.library.nyu.edu/collections/databases.html

The databases are:

*Anthropological Literature and Anthropology Plus (coming early October)

*Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals

*Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA)

*CHICANO Database

*FRANCIS

*Hand Press Book

*History of Science, Technology & Medicine

*Index to 19th Century American Art Periodicals

*INION: Russian Academy of Sciences

*SCIPIO Art and Rare Book Sales

Please let us know if you have any questions about using WorldCat or any of the databases through FirstSearch.
